SHOW & SHINE 2008 WINNERS
Best of Show: Garry Penton - Honda Civic Type R
This car truly was the car of the show. With a heavily modified exterior, detailed and high quality interior and… well everything! It simply couldn’t be beaten.
Best Engine: Andy Smith - Nissan Pulsar GTiR
This car has won best engine trophies over and over again. Nothing comes close to the quality of Andy’s 24 carat gold-plated engine bay.
Best Exterior: Anthony Wilson - Renault Clio
Extreme and imaginative body modifications and a perfect paint job really caught the judges eye.
Most Radical: Warren Crawford - Peugeot 406 Coupe
Absolutely insane hand-made bodywork and mega-wide and low footprint, this car was a stunning lesson in extreme modding.
Best Wheels: Rob Potter - Vauxhall Astra Van
This Porsche-themed Astra van sounds like a stupid idea, but in the metal it looks awesome! The choice of wheels was absolutely inspired.
Best Interior: Liam Cyster - Hyundai Coupe
A brave and complete car that was a best of show contender, but the dashboard was the real centrepiece- totally custom, flat glass & LED display that you couldn’t take your eyes off.
Best ICE: Mark Shaw - Honda Civic Coupe
This car has won trophies for ICE before at USC, but it would have been criminal not to award the trophy again, as it clearly had the most extreme ICE on show.
Best Race Car: Steve Roberts - Vauxhall Corsa Turbo
A superbly looked after body, stripped out but tidy interior, and serious performance modifications made this the clear winner.
Best Retro: Gavin Bassett - Ford Escort RS1600i
Very stock-looking, but that was no bad thing. There are not many RS1600’s of this era in such great, unmolested condition, so a worthy winner.
Judges Choice: James Cottenham - Vauxhall Corsa Van
A van with a rusty bonnet may not seem like it would attract anyone’s attention, but the awesome hot-rod attitude was not lost on the judges, who loved the crazy combination.
Show & Go: Wayne Bentley - Nissan Skyline GTST
A 12.8-second run on the strip earned Wayne 144/200 points for “go” and the judges awarded him 150/200 for “show”, so he topped the tables with a remarkable 294 points.
